WTF?
Everyone probably saw my post on the main page about my comments, but figrued I'd repost in case some haven't
"This is the new controller for the Nintendo Revolution that’s suppose to be released in the near future. It’s…. it’s…. it’s a freakin’ remote! I mean WTF? Who was the guy on crack who designed this?!? How are you suppose to run the classic games on this? Sure maybe the old NES games will work, but what about the SNES games or N64? Someone is really dumb here.
I know that Nintendo has always been known to try ridiculous things and hope they pay off (Like the Dual Screen (with touch) Nintendo DS or the New controller of the N64 (which in my opinion wasn’t a success, but that’s a venting system for later), but I think the success will be similar to that of the Virtual Boy! (Remember it? Not many do) Nintendo is trying too hard to “Revolutionize” the industry and shooting itself in the foot. They used to be the gaming Giant vs Sega and Atari, but now that they are in 3rd place to Sony and Microsoft, trying drastic things is not the way to go.
They should just stick to a traditional controller and produce quality games that DON’T ALWAYS INCLUDE MARIO (for f&$* sakes). They have some great games from the old that can be redone to todays standards of graphics, controls, storymodes & such. Like Excite Bike could be redone to a game similar to ATV Offroad Fury, or SSX Tricky! Instead, they invent this monstroncity and hope that the Mario games will sell this baby (as well as their back catalogue of games from the NES to N64)
Sorry Nintendo, but this controller doesn’t look like it’ll work with the old games and I’m tired of Mario this or That. I’m sticking with Microsoft and Sony."~Main Page
Anywho, while some people are saying it's the greatest thing since sliced bread, I'm thinking otherwise. However, I haven't played with it yet, so I am going to refrain from making a standing statement. But I can't see how you can play Madden Football or NHL Hockey, let alone many other games (or their old library games from the SNES).
Time will tell
Note: Yes I know that madden hasn't been on a nintendo for a while
